Olive Wood

An olive tree can grow up to 20 meters tall. To keep it low for harvesting, it is pruned. The pruned branches, as well as wood from trees that no longer bear fruit, are used by olive wood carvers for their artisanal creations.

All of our olive wood products are handcrafted. Various tools are used in the process, such as drilling and sanding machines, band saws, and copying routers. The finish consists of natural linseed or olive oil. We deliberately avoid artificial varnishes and lacquers.

Approximately 500 Christian families around Bethlehem still earn their livelihood from selling olive wood crafts. The ongoing tense political situation has significant economic consequences for these artisans, who pass down their skills from generation to generation, from father to son.

Early orders, including bulk quantities (e.g., for churches, groups, etc.), ensure timely delivery of additional items.
